ST. MARY’S COLLEGE OF TAGUM, INC.
“LIFE AS A MISSION TO SERVE
THE POOR AND DISADVANTAGED DURING
THIS PANDEMIC”

“No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another.” “There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.” “When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed.” “You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.” (Anonymous)

St. Mary’s College of Tagum through its Community Involvement Program (CIP) continues to live out its core value of service to help poor individuals and disadvantaged communities during this pandemic. Reaching out to out of school youth, unemployed mothers, returning Overseas Filipino Workers who have lost their employment , unemployed men and women , sustenance of farmers during this difficult times is a challenge the staff has to face in visiting communities, conducting livelihood trainings and seminars , helping farmers and cottage entrepreneurs by giving them financial assistance. The spirit is steadfast as actions are proportionate to answer the needs of the times.

The administration, faculty and personnel of St. Mary’s College of Tagum see life as a mission to help others not just a career or position. Nurturing themselves to put on the harness of service, thinking of others by sharing material resources and praying for the homeless, hungry , those in need and the last, the lost and the least.

Caring for the environment is a necessity. There is only one mother earth who cries for people’s care and concern. St. Mary’s College of Tagum puts environmental care as an advocacy. The school boosts of a clean and green environment conducive for work and learning. Trees are planted around the campus providing a cool atmosphere. It has also developed a space for planting organic vegetables and crops as a source of food and for future sustainability.

The current pandemic will not stop St. Mary’s College of Tagum from touching and teaching people to empower themselves and become self-reliant.

Care for the environment through the school’s Gulayan sa Paaralan Project. Bountiful Blessings through the harvest of vegetable and tilapia (fish).
St. Mary’s College of Tagum promotes the production of organic fertilizer and pesticides for plants.

“NO one has ever become Poor by Giving”

St. Mary’s College of Tagum is sharing to our always forgotten front liners, the garbage collectors, security guards and maintenance personnel of the school. Pillows, blankets, mosquito nets and goods generously given by our teachers and personnel during the Catholic Personnel’s Day Celebration last January 2020 and Culmination of the Living Rosary on October 30, 2020.

St. Mary’s College of Tagum Community Involvement Program – RVM Technical Training Program continues to provide quality and affordable technical training in Food Preservation, Motorcycle/ Small Engine Servicing/ Banana Fiber Weaving & Organic Agriculture in Sitios Bugtong Talisay & Pawas, Braulio E. Dujali in partnership with LGU and PESO of BE Dujali.
St. Mary’s College of Tagum through the school’s Community Involvement Program and Job Placement Office provides emergency employment to 10 individuals most affected by the COVID 19 pandemic. Though we are also coping with the crisis, God always answers our prayers for us to continue helping the poor in this most trying times. Our Basic Education Department teachers and students generously raised funds last December and turned it over to the CIP/JPO Office for a reach out which did not pushed through but God has His own plan hence, the funds for emergency employment helped put food on the tables for these beneficiaries.
