In observance of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, St. Mary’s College of Tagum, Inc. (SMCTI) has announced that there will be no classes at all levels and no office transactions on Monday, December 9, following the announcement of the rescheduled date for the solemn event, which is traditionally celebrated on December 8.
 
This shift in date follows the Liturgical Calendar, which states that if a solemnity coincides with a Sunday of Advent, the Sunday of Advent takes precedence. Consequently, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception has been moved to the following day.
 
Catholic schools and institutions, including SMCTI, are expected to observe this change, providing students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to reflect and participate in the day’s spiritual observances without academic or administrative interruptions.
 
Additionally, classes and office transactions will resume on Tuesday, December 10.
