St. Mary’s College of Tagum, Inc. proudly recognizes Dr. Klein Mamayabay, LPT, Research Director, for representing the institution at the 23rd AsiaTEFL International Conference held at 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟭𝟬–𝟭𝟯, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱.

With the theme “Care, Innovation, and Sustainability in ELT”, this year’s AsiaTEFL gathered English language educators, researchers, and practitioners from across Asia and beyond to explore human-centered and socially impactful approaches to English Language Teaching (ELT). AsiaTEFL, recognized as the largest English teachers’ association in Asia, serves as a leading platform for promoting scholarship, sharing best practices, and fostering cross-cultural understanding in ELT.

Dr. Mamayabay presented a research paper entitled “𝙇𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙇𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙩-𝙏𝙚𝙧𝙢 𝙈𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙮 (𝙇𝙎𝙏𝙈) 𝙞𝙣 𝘼𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙮𝙯𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙇𝙚𝙭𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙁𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙃𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙎𝙥𝙚𝙚𝙘𝙝 𝙞𝙣 𝙄𝙣𝙛𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮-𝙍𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙑𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙤𝙨: 𝘼𝙣 𝙉𝙇𝙋-𝘽𝙖𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙮.” The study showcased the integration of advanced Natural Language Processing (NLP) methods with linguistic research, addressing pressing issues in online discourse while highlighting innovative ways technology can contribute to language education and social awareness.

For his active participation and presentation, Dr. Mamayabay was awarded a certificate of recognition from AsiaTEFL. His presence at the conference not only brought pride to the institution but also reaffirmed St. Mary’s College of Tagum, Inc.’s commitment to research excellence and global academic engagement.
