The Department of Tourism (DOT) has officially recognized the Hospitality and Tourism Management programs of St. Maryβs College of Tagum, Inc. (SMCTI) as a national Academe Partner in the implementation of the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE).
The recognition, conferred during a formal ceremony held at The Bellevue Hotel in Alabang, highlights the collegeβs commitment to cultivating a culture of hospitality excellence and to training future professionals to embody Filipino warmth and service across the tourism and hospitality industry.
Mr. Ryan J. Hibaya, Program Head of Hospitality Management, represented the institution during the awarding ceremony. He joined DOT officials and other stakeholders in celebrating institutions that have actively championed the integration of FBSE into academic curricula and training programs.
Undersecretary Maria Rica Bueno, who represented Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, commended the awardees for their vital role in developing a tourism workforce that reflects the essence of Filipino hospitality. She emphasized the importance of partnerships with the academe in strengthening the countryβs global reputation for service with heart.
